You told us something. Not once, but many times, in different ways:
We listened. And instead of building features based on assumptions, we went back to the core of the problem. The issue wasn’t missing functionality or buttons, but was a lack of clarity.
When you create a project in Partnify, you naturally move through different stages: setting things up, collaborating with partners, wrapping things up, and eventually completing the project. Until now, that journey wasn’t visible leaving you without clear guidance on what to do next. That changes with our upcoming release.
Every project in Partnify will now have a clear status that reflects its stage in the lifecycle. There are four simple statuses:
Each status helps you understand exactly where your project stands and what to do next.
Preparation
Every project starts here.
This is the phase where you set things up: adding details, aligning internally, and getting everything ready to go. During this stage, you’ll see a clear call to action prompting you to invite your colleagues. Before collaborating externally, it’s important to have your internal team in place.
Collaborating
This status activates automatically.
As soon as your first partner accepts an invitation, the project moves into Collaborating. No manual action is required, the system reflects what’s already happening: collaboration has begun.
Finishing up
This is a status you set manually via your project settings. The end of a collaboration is just as important as the beginning. Moving into Finishing up signals a shift from execution to reflection:
Every project generates valuable insights. This phase gives you the space to capture them so future collaborations can benefit from what you’ve learned.
Closed
This is the final stage.
Once everything is completed, you can close the project via the settings. Simple as that.
The project status will be clearly visible on your project page.
Next to it, you’ll find an info icon. Clicking it gives you a quick overview of all statuses and their meanings. No need to search through documentation.
Your current projects will be automatically migrated to the new system:
Nothing will be lost, and everything will continue to work as expected.
We could have created a complex workflow with many statuses and custom rules. You need to open a project and instantly understand where things stand and what to do next. That’s why we kept it simple:
We'll keep listening. If you run into situations where this doesn't match how you work, we want to know. Not your solution, just your problem. Tell us more.
